STRUDEL WITH CHOCOLATE AND NUTS

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 500 g Extra white flour type 400 
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 fresh yeast
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the filling:

  • 100 ml milk
  • 100 g of cooking chocolate
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 100 g finely ground walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • egg whites for coating

PREPARATION

Knead the dough from all the dough ingredients and let it rise for about 1 hour at room temperature. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Put the milk and sugar in a saucepan on the fire. Add the chocolate and cocoa to the hot mixture and stir constantly until the mixture cools down. Add the ground walnuts and cocoa and stir. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface into a rectangular shape. Coat the dough with the filling and roll it into a roll. Leave the roll in a baking tray lined with paper and preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Coat the roll with egg whites and bake for about 40 minutes. Garnish with powdered sugar.
