Ingredients

  • 250 g Extra white flour type 400
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground carnation
  • 1/2 ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs in room temperature
  • 150 g sugar
  • 170 ml sour cream
  • peel of one orange
  • 80 ml orange juice
  • 100 g sugar
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • 150 g walnuts

PREPARATION

In a large bowl mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, carnation, nutmeg and salt. In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar. Add the sour cream along with the orange peel and cooking oil. Stir until all ingredients are combined. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Add 100 g of walnuts and stir. Pour the cake mixture into a 20 x 20 cm pan that you have previously coated with butter or cooking oil. Chop the remaining walnuts and apply them to the cake mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. Prepare the syrup by heating the orange juice together with 100 g of sugar in a pan on the fire. Boil for about 5-6 minutes. When the cake is ready, pour the glaze over it several times to soak it in nicely.
